2023 Mother’s Day Gift Guide: Gifts that Inspire.

    mothersdaygiftguide

My Mother’s Day Gift Guide was a hit last year, so I’ve decided to go ahead and create a version for 2023! This year’s guide highlights a handful of thoughtful gift ideas that will inspire the mothers in your life to make a little time for self-care, self-love, and personal growth.

You’ll quickly notice that quite a few of the gifts in my list are books or book-based, and the reason for that is that one of my “resolutions” for this year was to put the phone/screens down more often and pick up books instead. This gift guide will be short, sweet and to the point….but all the better….because maybe the mom in your life can be the recipient of all 6 of these carefully curated gifts! Trust me, I know she is worth it! 😉

As mothers, it can be so difficult to find the time to read anything outside of a quick recipe or a Facebook status update, but I am hoping that some of these gifts help all the mamas feel inspired and inclined to find 5 minutes or 10 to read a book that fills her soul….even if that means reading on the porcelain throne (which, as you know, is sometimes the only place we moms get a minute to ourselves…but only sometimes!).

So, without wasting any more precious time….here are my favorite gifts for this year’s Mother’s Day!

Once Upon A Book Club: I’ve recently really fallen in love with the idea of giving subscription boxes as gifts, and one of the most unique and wonderful of these is the Once Upon A Book Club Subscription boxes (honestly, I want to give this as a gift to myself!). With this gift, mom gets a newly released novel every month along with some wrapped gifts that have a page number printed on them. As she gets to the page number in the book, she’ll get to open the coordinating gift….and if that isn’t cool enough, she can also get to join the book club Facebook group to discuss the novel of the month! Honestly, this is a gift that just keeps on giving, and giving…and giving! Find it at: Once Upon A Book Club

The Self-Love Planner: Now, I understand that we are deep into Spring, so why would a planner be a good Mother’s Day Gift? I’m happy to explain! First of all, this planner is undated, which means mom can start using it whenever she wants. Did the year not start off on the right foot? No problem, symbolically start it all over with this new planner which is brought to us by Dr. Shainna Ali, author of The Self-Love Workbook. This planner will not only help mom stay organized, but it will inspire her to follow her heart, find her truth, and practice the self-love and personal growth she deserves. Truly a touching gift, and you can find it at: Self-Love Planner

Mantra Band Bracelets & Necklaces: If you know me, you know that I don’t wear much by way of jewelry, but Mantra Bands’ pieces are a definite exception! These beautiful and thoughtful accessories are the perfect gift for Mother’s Day because each one comes with a motivational and inspirational mantra or message. While these are definitely not books, they are wearable words of inspiration and self-reflection. They are classic, perfectly understated, and truly meaningful…pretty enough to go with any outfit and thoughtful enough to make your mom smile every time she wears it. I know I’m in love. Find them at: Mantra Band Jewelry

Climbing Down the Ladder: A Journey to a Different Type of Happy: This lovely book by Laura Black hits home for me as a mother because we are so often cheered on to climb the ladders of career and success only to find ourselves losing our grip or falling off that ladder completely once we enter motherhood. Laura’s story of how she found happiness climbing back down the ladder brings a lot of comfort, inspiration, and positivity to what can sometimes feel deflating and unsettling. She helps her readers realize that happiness can come in many forms and at many different stages….such an important reminder for those of us who gave up careers we worked hard for to take care of our homes and our littles. This book struck some chords for me and would make a very insightful gift for mom! Find it at: Climbing Down the Ladder

BeAmbiance Candles: Would my gift guide be complete without candles? Of course not! For this Mother’s Day I had to include BeAmbiance candles because I have fallen in love with these beautiful, inspiring creations. Each allergen-free beeswax candle is made with a special quote that is sure to let the mom in your life know how special she is and remind her of how loved she is. These candles are not only beautiful and carefully crafted, but they are also perfect for anyone who is sensitive to fragrances as they are 100% natural. They also come in lovely packaging ready to be gifted. BeAmbience is a small, woman-owned company, which is the type of business I love supporting…especially for such an important day! Breath For The Soul: Self-Care Steps to Wellness: This is a book I find profoundly important for every mother to read especially as we grow older. Written by Dr. Jan E. Patterson and Phyllis Clark Nichols, this book gives realistic, holistic, and actionable steps and advice on how to deal with some of life’s hardest moments like stress, depression, grief, and anxiety. Motherhood often has us dealing with all of these emotions at once and the overwhelm can be tremendous which is why this book makes an incredibly helpful and thoughtful gift. Patterson and Nichols provide evidence-based methods of self-care that can help anyone deal with some of life’s most seemingly insurmountable moments. This is a book that can be referred to time and again, and easily passed down as well. Find it at: Breath For The Soul

…and there you have it, my friends! The 2023 Mother’s Day Gift Guide from this frazzled mom to all the other frazzled moms out there. There is no owner’s manual for life, parenting, or this thing we call adulthood…but these gifts will give the gift of self-reflection, self-care, and personal growth we all need and deserve. All gifts that are forever priceless!
